Liberty Cap Head Left Half Cent (1793)
Mint Mark Information

The Liberty Cap with Head Facing Left Half Cent was produced only in one year, 1793.

1793 was also the year the Philadelphia Mint opened its doors for business, so this particular coin was one of the absolute first United States coins ever issued.

Coinage struck at the early Philadelphia Mint did not carry a mint mark. In fact, the first time the "P" mint mark was used occurred in 1942. Should you be fortunate enough to own a 1793 Half Cent, there is no need to search for a mint mark. It came from Philly.
